Poetry of Nature: The Hudson River School

Chris Fasolino, instructor

This course is designed to accompany the Museum's current exhibition, The Hudson River School: Landscapes from the New York Historical Society. We will discuss beautiful paintings as we stand right in front of them thanks to the wonders of technology! The Hudson River School was about discovering inspiration from nature. Its painters portrayed spectacular landscapes with a combination of fine detail and monumental grandeur. Along with the Hudson River Valley, a variety of locations in the Northeast—including the Adirondacks, the Catskills, and the White Mountains—are featured in these landscape paintings. This course is a wilderness adventure from the comfort of your home! It will enhance your appreciation and enjoyment of the Museum’s exciting new exhibit.

Classes meet March 16 - May 18, Tuesdays 9:30 - 11:30 am

$225 (Museum members $180)
