Qigong practice is especially effective for gently strengthening and calming the body and for overall health, particularly when practiced in the natural environment. The instructor will provide a brief history of this ancient Chinese practice during the first class of each session. Classes will focus on breath practice, gentle stretching and movement, and present-moment awareness. No special prior experience or skills are necessary. Loose, comfortable clothes, sneaker-style shoes and a water bottle are recommended.

In partnership with the Indian River Land Trust and supporting sponsor, The William Randolph Hearst Foundation, the VBMA presents this engaging class that was inspired by the exhibition Changing Nature: A New Vision, Photographs by James Balog.
