This class focuses on the basic fundamentals of transparent watercolor, including paper, brushes, pigments, color, value, and painting surfaces. Students will explore primary, secondary, tertiary, and complementary colors, along with warm and cool relationships, light and dark, and the use of transparent pigments. Instructor demonstrations will cover palette arrangement, paint application, and techniques for working on wet, damp, and dry surfaces. Books, prints, and examples of transparent watercolor paintings will also be used throughout the course. Click here for recommended supply list.
