All Creatures Great and Small: Animal Friends and Their Human Connections
Tuesdays at 1:30 pm
The portrayal of animals has long been a compelling element in cinema. Across film history, storytellers have explored the profound and enduring bonds between humans and the animal world. Presented in conjunction with the exhibition James Prosek: At Work, this series presents five films that span a range of stories centered on creatures from across the animal kingdom, each illuminating the emotional, psychological, and cultural dimensions of these relationships. Among the selections is Chloé Zhao’s acclaimed The Rider, the 2017 recipient of the Art Cinema Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
